Warrior Hockey Eligibility

Eligibility requirements

1. 01

   Service Requirement

   You must have been discharged under honorable conditions, and you must be able to provide official documentation from one of the six branches of service: Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Space Force.

   All reserve and National Guard components are included. Any exception to these requirements has to be approved by the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Section.

2. 02

   Meet One of These

   On top of the service requirement, you need to satisfy one of the following.

   • Service-Connected Disability Rating

     A minimum 10% service-connected disability rating issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Bring documentation of the rating along with a copy of your DD214 showing your discharge status.

   • Purple Heart Medal

     Players awarded the Purple Heart Medal qualify regardless of VA rating, but still need a discharge under honorable conditions. Bring your Department of Defense orders showing the award and a copy of your DD214.

3. 03

   Bring Your Paperwork

   Eligibility is verified during team check-in at USA Hockey events.

   • Bring official proof of eligibility to team check-in at USA Hockey events.
   • USA Hockey does not keep or require copies. Your paperwork is shown to and approved by the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Section Warrior Hockey Representative.
